If we are not careful we can ignore the mercy and miracle of this time and begin to think of it as just another day, similar to the controversy over the occurrence of Holocaust. Remember once Israel left Egypt and saw that they would not have their daily portion of usual foods; they were ready to turn around and go back to Egypt for the leeks and onions.
Joy to the world! The Lord is come Let earth receive her King! Let every heart prepare Him room
The people we think are the worst people are still souls that God love and want to redeem. Regardless of how bad we think a person is, God is still the Creator of that soul and loves and finds value in His creation. His goal is always redemption and therefore we are told to pray for the person.
In its greatest hour of wealth, power and dominance in the earth, who has America honored? Men without God’s approval and glory seek to bring glory to themselves because their failure to recognize, honor and give glory to God leaves them naked.
Many people recognize this time as the season of Lent (Feb. 26-April 9, 2020). It is a time when some people, particularly of the Catholic faith, will spend this time in reflection with fasting as they prepare for the celebration of Easter. Christians, in particular, know that their sins are already forgiven through Christ’s death and they may take this time lightly, feeling as if they are ready for the season. Worldwide we are seeing the devastation of the Coronavirus as it takes the lives of mostly the elderly, whose bodies are too weak to resist the devastating virus. That alone is a reason to begin to pray and seek God for ourselves and others.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was a minister and a prophet of his time and his people. He took us as far as he could but we must continue the journey with the lessons and examples he left us.
