LAST HOPE!

LAST HOPE!

Reporters, Prophetic?

“Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ” (1Pe 1:13).  Reading of the news on my phone the other day left me feeling devastated.   After hearing the latest political news and Supreme Court decisions with their probable effect on daily life, I concluded: “Then there is little hope left in America.”  If ever I thought I was prophetic, the news reporters seemed more so when they recounted their latest news stories, looked forward to the likely conclusion from their reporting, and projected the outcome.  It had never occurred to me that reporters could be the prophetic voices of our time, but why not?  Reporters talk to the highest officeholders and the lowest level people in society to get the story.  They have to report the story so that it makes sense and relay to us the importance to our everyday lives. That is what prophecy does. The only part they left out is its correlation to bible scripture.  Even with my bible knowledge, I felt the dread that there was little hope left.

Messengers Of Hope

Fortunately for all of us there is a God who gives hope.   As I continued to think on the matter, the Spirit of God began to show me hope.  The news reporters had painted a very grim picture.  Nevertheless, we all saw a hope that our nation has as we watched the news during the past week for the January 6th Last Minute Emergency hearing.  There was a young woman named Cassidy Hutchinson as congressional aide to Trump’s White House Chief of Staff, who dared tell the truth in light of all possible risks to herself.  She told the American television audience what she heard and saw in the White House relating to the January 6 insurrection.  Her testimony makes a big difference in what was previously known and greatly increases the odds of some naysayers changing their opinions about the insurrection and its causes. If we could all agree on the truth, we could possibly heal the nation.

I believe I received a message from the Lord through my pondering on this subject and I think that it is important that I share it. It requires more sharing of my personal testimony to clarify my point.  For all my hesitancy of talking about my past life, it appears the Lord wants me to share these stories to help others because we share common experiences.

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 1Co10:13

Perfected For Use

People who may not relate to people in bible stories may see more of a similarity to my life experiences. Bible support for this part of my testimony can be found in scripture and it should be a common experience for all born-again Christians who allow the Holy Spirit to do His work in them.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Gal 5:19-21 KJV

When I read those verses, the Holy Spirit told me that was me.  I protested because I was saved and some of those things I couldn’t have done because I was single and could never have committed adultery.  On first thought, I know many of my readers will conclude that it was the devil speaking to me and not the Holy Spirit, but hold your opinions until you hear the rest of the story.  The Spirit convinced me that I had done all of it including adultery because Christ is my husband and I had been unfaithful to Him.  I recognized that as biblical truth.  It blew my mind clean on out into space.  After that response, I shut my mouth and listened.  We walked through each evil characteristic listed even though I had to look up some terms; but at the conclusion, I agreed that I was guilty of all of it.  And I was a born-again, tongue talking Christian!  Because I had a relationship with the Lord at this point and was used to listening, I continued to listen and learn.

My experience with the Holy Spirit was that we walked through each evil characteristic to see what it was, why I was guilty of it and how to get rid of it.  Remember Jesus defined some sins as contemplating doing evil in our mind without actually fulfilling it in the natural. (Mt 5:28).   It took a lot of time as we worked through the list to cleanse these sins.  For bible reference, read the story of Isaiah’s encounter with the Lord.

Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.  Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:  And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purgedIsa 6:5-7

So the truth is that everyone who professes Christ comes with a lot of worldly baggage.  Church people have often been led to believe that once they come to Christ they are alright now; but they are hearing only part of the story. We must go on to be sanctified. With new birth come forgiveness, sometimes deliverance, a right heart, and a new spirit.  Paul also taught working out our salvation:  “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling (Php 2:12)”.  God requires holiness:  “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord (Heb 12:14)”. There is work that God does, but there is also a work that we must do.  Preachers, like Isaiah, must learn the truth of their own sin and be cleansed in order to be God’s preachers and help others.

Mine was a long process and even when I thought we had worked through the list, God was not satisfied.  He saw something else that needed to go.  He let me know what it was and I knew we were working on that particular area.  When I knew I had victory over an area, I was relieved and glad.  Some years later I came to a point where I was really struggling.  There was a problem I failed to let go of and the Holy Spirit told me what I was dealing with.  It was a matter of love, where I had flunked the test.  It involved something that God hates and I had resisted being around the person possessing that sin.  My disdain caused me to suffer the consequence of that error even though God still showed His love for me. There was another issue I had where I knew God could not use me in ministry if I did not overcome it.  This is important!  I was accustomed to having some leader or man tell me what to do, but God kept saying no.  He insisted I listen to His voice and obey His voice, but I had been wired to obey men in authority.  When I thought I had grasped this lesson, I hadn’t.  I was surprised to see it was still there, in my spirit.  Then one day I got the victory!  I finally understood and had learned this lesson:  “Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men (Act 5:29).”   I know; I digress, but that might help someone.  Let’s go back to the lesson at hand.

A Clean Vessel

God has to clean up a vessel in order to use it.  In what I just explained, how many men do you think will go through that?  And that is the problem!  There are men who want to lead the church or his family or even his marriage that does not want to be cleaned up by God.  That is a big problem in America because America believes in following men in authority, even if they are wrong.  God cannot allow America to continue that course, nor is it biblical.

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.  Mt 16:24

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. Act 5:29

This part is for men.  Men are told they are the head so they want to lead everything!  In order to be the FIRST, the BEST, the LEADER; men must also be first to let God work on them to perfect them to lead.  Imperfect men, full of sin make bad leaders and they corrupt their subordinates.  Look at how many men are going to jail for Trump.  I use him as an example because everyone knows the story.

Still talking to men, you have to be told where you are in error or need to change.  It is very difficult for men to admit they are wrong, but we are all wrong somewhere, in some way.  And we are not called, as Christians, to serve flesh. If you do not allow God or His Holy Spirit to clean you up, you will lead some body, some group or people astray as a leader.  That is one reason why God gives man his wife.  Someone that you love and that you know loves you should be able to tell you when you are mistaken.  This is very difficult for men; and it is one of their greatest faults.  The other one, you know!

Now for everyone else, we have to realize that men are not perfect and that they, regardless of position, can make a mistake or error.  We have to, as Christians, stand for truth.  Truth is a solid foundation that we all can stand on, build on.  If we do not, the consequences should be obvious.  What we are seeing now are the consequences of following bad leaders because we may have thought it was the right thing to do for one reason or another.  Praying and talking to Jesus is always the right solution for every Christian.  Even if you are not a Christian, most everyone as a child was taught by their mother to tell the truth.  American society and politics taught Americans to be politically correct.  Look where that has gotten us!

Hope

Now let’s go back to my topic of no hope.  There is hope!  Hope comes from our embracing truth.  Tell your husband, boss, or leader the truth.  Ask them this: “If I saw you going the wrong way, would you want me to tell you?”  Sorry… we know the answer to that!  Women must find a way to talk to male authority.  Churches must enforce what is right.  Legal authorities must represent God’s true authority. Husbands, you are foolish if you do not consider your wives’ opinion. Everyone needs checks and balances.  God put them in place to keep us from destroying ourselves. We have gotten here because of ignoring the rules.  We saw someone go against the odds and speak the truth in the January 6th Emergency hearing.  What if she hadn’t told her story?  God depends on individuals to heed His call to do what is right.  That is how He intervenes in our crises.

What is the hope of America? It is that we restore our faith in telling the truth.  Remember, it is the devil who promote liars to imitate him.  That is what causes destruction.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Joh 10:10

So what is the message that God gave me out of all this?  The Spirit of God showed me that the devil is working in the high places to deceive the nation:  the false church, arrogant ex-preesident, rebellious legislators, greedy CEO’s, and a biased Supreme Court. These high places where America has given its devotion to something other than God is being allowed to try the nation until it surrenders to the True God. We all must come to the point where we value truth above the lie and decide to do what is right.  If men in authority have been corrupted or led astray, we must ALL speak against it.  American’s strength was founded on us vowing to obey God’s truth, upholding truth in places of authority, to swear or affirm our vow to truth in court, to warn neighbors of danger to house or person, and generally respecting truth.  America is different in that it was not set up dependent on a single corruptible leader to rule; but each individual citizen gives voice in support of our successful constitutional union with God. This models the church where God can speak through any individual to be His voice when needed, and we must be able to recognize truth.  That’s the reason why all men, in particular, must learn to hear God’s voice of truth regardless of whom God chooses to use, even if it is a woman. It is also the reason why male authority should not provoke to anger the female (or weaker sex) because she is assigned to be a help for him.  (To help Men: Consider God also spoke through a jackass.)  Men of boldness and strength fought for and built America stating, “We hold these TRUTHS…”  If America no longer holds on to truth, then I fear God will no longer hold up His part of the promise to hold up America!

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Joh 8:32
