For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. Joh 3:16-17
It was a very dark and troubling time when the Son of God came to atone for the sins of mankind and bring light. Jesus was born a Jew and came to help His own people, who had been given the Law and chosen as a light for the nations. The Jews were under bondage to the Roman government during the adult life and ministry of Christ. Even though the circumstances were dire and life was difficult, Jesus bought the people deliverance from bondage that did not require guns or war. The Holy Spirit worked through Christ upon the hearts of men to break the power of Satan.
Help Sent
In the midst of the darkness and bondage, the Father had sent help to change the environment that burdened people to despair. The kinds of trouble that our nation and world are experiencing today would make one want to call upon that type of intervention again; EXCEPT it has already come and is still here in the form of the Holy Spirit. When Jesus ascended to the Father, He assured His followers that He would send the Comforter. We know that the Comforter came when the Holy Spirit fell on the day of Pentecost and filled every one of the 120 believers in the Upper Room. They came out of that room to witness they had received the power of God; the same power that Jesus had: to heal, deliver, raise the dead, preach, teach and set free. Peter went on to say that the promise of receiving this Holy power was available to everyone.

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Act 2:1-4
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Act 1:8
We Are Stewards Over Our World
Today as many preachers preach a watered-down message in big cathedrals, temples, mega churches and on TV; we see a world boiling over in hatred, violence and turmoil. The Holy Spirit is still here but He manifests in those that want and allow Him. The devil is an imitator of God and he wants to outshine and uproot God, as he tried to do in heaven. Where God offered His love and blessings to obedient believers; Satan has provided lies, hatred, temporary pleasures, chaos and damnation for his followers. The preacher’s job is to be that connection between sinners and Christ to help turn mankind’s heart back to loving his neighbor and his God through introducing Christ as Savior. The effectiveness of their efforts are showing up in our environment as people illustrate whom they serve, God or Satan, through their demonstration of love or hate.
There are many nations that no longer accept Christ and His teachings but America was established upon trust in God and the Holy Bible. Our nation is estimated as having approximately 400,000 churches with international religious broadcasts operating 24/7 and yet it has not been able to do what the 12 apostles did without those benefits. God did not change but churches have and Christ’s message has been compromised. The true word of God brings about love, healings, deliverance, joy and salvation. Preaching the word of God brings peace to the hearts of those that hear it because people receive God’s forgiveness of sin and are thankful.
The saving message of Christ is that you are forgiven of your sins because Jesus Christ died on the cross in your place for the sins you committed, setting you free when you accept Christ as your Savior. The good news that Christ brought us is that you are no longer under the Law and that you can receive the power of God to walk in a manner that is pleasing to Father God and receive His blessings. Mankind is free to walk in agreement with God and be free of bondage brought by Satan and his followers because He who the Son makes free is free indeed (Joh 8:36).
While our nation was taken off guard and surprised at the quick changes in the nature of our people and laws; it was all predictable, prophesied and written for our advance knowledge. The bible states in Deuteronomy 30 God’s plan to bless the obedient and to allow troubles and damnation to those who disobey. The message is repeated throughout Old and New Testament scriptures and only Jesus’ blood protects one from the consequences of Satan’s power. This message written in scripture as John 3:16 is known by most people and is for every soul on the earth. Christ can be received by anyone who hears this message and confesses Jesus Christ as Lord. Christ, Himself, begins to work in that individual’s life to lead and guide the individual into all truth to save the soul and prepare one for heaven. All religions are not equal and you must live in the truth that Jesus and His apostles proclaimed to be saved. Reading the written word of God for yourself is necessary.
Stability in Troubling Times
The time between accepting Christ and reaching heaven is paved with temptations and troubles (Psa34:19) to lead one astray but the Holy Spirit is our helper to teach and warn of dangers for the believer until acquiring heaven as home.
But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. 1Jn 2:27
Today more than ever, we see the need for the Holy Spirit’s guidance because the lie and liar are so prevalent everywhere we look. Where the Holy Spirit is not being exercised by believers, the spirit of error is trying to replace the truth. Unfortunately, preachers can agree on a candidate for president but cannot seem to agree on the word of God. Every individual needs the help of the Spirit to decide which path to take as questions come up even in everyday life about issues like those in the news: vaccines, healthcare, voting, work and family decisions. Jesus Christ has promised to be with us and to help us through all of life’s problems. He is needed more than ever to help navigate the problems of today where instantaneous individual decisions must be made. You can be sure and certain of the future with the guidance of Christ Jesus.
Where we were reliant on many kinds of leaders in the Old Testament for guidance, Christ has introduced Himself in the New Testament as our Lord. Christ as Lord over our soul is the “Leader” who has our best interest at heart in every situation. We have the benefit of praying and asking God in every situation “What shall I do?” and know that God as Father has the power to help and intervene in every situation.
We have the power to change our world through accepting Christ and using His guidance to make our individual lives more Christ-like and then spreading that message to others to do the same. The power of change is now in every individual’s hands through the power of Christ to pray and be a witness for Him.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: Joh 10:27
Good article. There was a YouTube video titled ‘giving people 10 usd if they can quote scripture.’ Throughout the whole video of his walk ups, he never found a single american who could quote scripture. So actually, not many people know John 3:16. God bless you
