AMERICA AND THE HAITIANS: AMERICA’S FAILURE TO UNDERSTAND PROPHESY

September 22, 2021

The Old Testament tells us about the traditions of the people who knew God. They had traditions and laws that governed their actions.  We read stories of the Israelites of biblical times who would wash the feet of strangers whom they would take in for the night and offer food and shelter. It was a type of kindness we do not see today.  Abraham pled for three strangers to turn in to his house and eat before traveling further.  One of the strangers was the Lord and the other two were on assignment to destroy his nephew’s city.  Abraham’s traditional kindness saved his nephew who lived in Sodom.

New Testament scripture tells us to be careful with strangers because we entertain angels unaware.

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angel unawares. Heb 13:2

Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Mat 19:19

We do not know when the Lord may choose to try our heart as he did Abraham with the great love he had for his only son, Isaac, to be sacrificed at God’s request.  Certainly in a time of trial and testing we would want to make sure we do the right thing.  The high and Holy days of Jewish celebration just passed.  The Jewish New Year has commenced (Rosh Hashanah).  Yom Kippur, the time of judging has ended. The ten days of fasting and the celebration time just ended.  Those are times and seasons that God does a special work among His people.  America does not know much of these times and celebrations because they only celebrate Jesus, the Messiah.  The Father stated that the times and seasons would never end while the earth existed and that they were for signs.  The high and holy days were to remind the Israelites of their God and what He had said.

America does not understand prophesy because she has not taken the time to find out who she is In God’s providence.. Her story is written in the bible and her end Is already prophesied but this is a time when Americans are not even sure there is a God.  This is also a time when white people stand in arrogance to declare that they are more special than others. The times are ripe for prophetic movement.

It cannot be an accident that my bible reading yesterday led me to Numbers 20:14. The caption in  my bible reads:  “Edom Refuses Passage.”  What is important to know is that God never forgot this evil done to Israel and punishment is yet to be fulfilled in prophesy.  As I read the prophet’s words, my spiritual eyes were opened to see that this is the same scenario that America is facing today without prophetic understanding. America is already in a time of judging and does she dare do this great evil that is before her?  There are some things that God allows to seal the fate of evil people because they have no understanding of doing good.  Israel said to the the king as they approached his border, “Let us pass, I pray thee through thy country…”   The King of Edom’s response was, “Thou shalt not pass by me, lest I come out against thee with the sword.”  As you read this, your mind should be registering the picture of the Haitians fleeing despair in Haiti and approaching American shores for help, where they were met with the whip and turned back.

We do not know the evil that we do every day without understanding the scriptures.  This was the first thing that came to mind when I woke today and I said shall I tell America what she is doing? Then I remembered that God said if he gives us a warning and we do not deliver it, the blood remains on our hands. If we give the warning and man does not heed it, then the blood is on his hands and God will require it (Ez. 3:17-18).  Sometimes we can seal our own fate without knowing it.

America went about 7500 miles by plane to rescue thousands of Afghanistan citizens and yet refuses to help their next door neighbor who is fleeing for life and has walked up to her border. In the text of Numbers, we do not hear God saying anything about what the King of Edom did in refusing passage but the Prophet Obadiah recounts the pride of Edom and pronounces God’s promise to retaliate evil for evil.  He states:  “as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head (Ob. 15).

As I listened to a broadcast on this past Sunday the teacher explained that so many prophecies were not disclosed to the people of that day like Daniel, who was told to shut up the prophesies until the last days.  The host went on to state that prophesies are being disclosed now because these are days of the end time and people need to know what God is saying.  I concur, so much so that at one point I closed the book for a period of time because I could not take anymore. Upon returning to the word, God is still speaking.  While prophesy is closed to the disobedient and those that have ceased to seek God, it is very much available for those to whom it pertains and are seeking to know God’s will. People often confuse the end of the age with the end of the world.  God operates in seasons and the season may end for one event and yet be the beginning for another.

But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such

sacrifices God is well pleased. Heb 13:16
